What You Need to Know

I’m committed to respecting your privacy and keeping your information safe. This page explains what information I collect, how I use it, and your rights. It follows the Privacy Act 2020 and the Health Information Privacy Code 2020.

What I Collect and Why

To support you well, I collect some personal information, including:

  • Your name, contact details, and emergency contact

  • Relevant health and mental health info (e.g. medications, history, other supports)

  • Notes from our sessions

  • Consent for telehealth sessions (if used)

Use of AI Tools (Heidi Health, NovoPsych)

Sometimes I use Heidi Health or NovoPsych, AI transcription tools, to help with my session notes. It creates written summaries from our conversations so I can focus more on you and less on admin. This is optional — I’ll only use it if you're comfortable with it. Just let me know.

Telehealth Sessions

If we meet online (e.g. via Google Meet), I do my best to keep sessions private and secure. Google Meet uses encryption, and I won’t share anything from our sessions unless required by law or with your permission. Please also make sure your space is private and your device is secure.

Confidentiality & Supervision

Like many professionals, I take part in supervision to reflect on my work and ensure I’m offering the best care. I might discuss aspects of your case — but never in a way that identifies you. Your privacy always comes first.

When I Might Share Your Info

I’ll never share your details without your permission unless:

  • There's a serious risk to your or someone else’s safety

  • I’m required to by law (e.g. a court order)

  • You’ve asked me to share information with another professional (like a GP)

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • See the information I hold about you

  • Ask for corrections if something’s wrong or out of date

  • I encourage you to have a look at the Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers' Rights here.

Keeping Your Information Safe

I store your information securely and only keep it for as long as I need to, based on legal and professional guidelines. After that, it will be safely deleted or anonymised.
While I do everything I can to protect your data, no system is 100% secure. If anything ever changes or goes wrong, I’ll let you know.

Questions or Concerns?

If you ever want to talk about privacy, ask a question, or request changes to your information, just get in touch.
